FRIENDSHIP – ESSAY

Introduction:

Friendship is one of the most precious gifts of life. A person who have true friends is lucky enough. Friendship makes life thrilling. It makes life sweet and a pleasant experience. Friendship is indeed, an assist in life. It leads us either to success or to doom. It completely depends on how we choose our friends.

Why man need friends:

Man is a social being. He cannot live all alone. He needs someone to share his joy and sorrows equally. He needs to discuss his problems with someone who is faithful to him and who loves him. So a man needs a friend. A friendless man becomes an object of pity.

Who is a true friend:

“A friend in need is a friend indeed” – thus goes the saying. A true friend is a blessing to us. He always stands by us. He never deserts us in our distress. He is ready to sacrifice everything for us if needed. We can rely on him for any secret of our life and discuss it with him freely. From a true friend, we get inspiration to face even the solid situation of life boldly. He always gives us good advice and wishes for our good. Thus a friend who loves us selflessly is unmistakably a true friend.

Danger of evil company:

We need to select our friends very carefully. We have to remember the maxim “All the glitters is not gold ”, when we choose friends. Many remain with us in the guise of good friends and leads us to the wrong path. They are with us only in the days of our prosperity. But when we fall into some trouble, they may not be there to stand by us. Such friends are called “fair-weather friends”. A false friend always thinks of our downfall. Today many youngsters have become social nuisance mainly due to wrong company and bad friends. We spent much of our time with them. Their mental outlook, behavior, attitudes affect us too. Therefore we have to choose our friends very carefully. We have to distinguish between fair-weather friends and true friends. True friends remain with us though thick and thin while fair-weather friends are found only in sunny days.

Conclusion:

Good friends are great pillars of life. They help us to stand tall and erect in life. Friendship can make or break us. It can lead to good careers and proper living. It does not matter how often you meet your friends but how much you take care and feel for another in good times as well as in bad times.
